This is our next generation 32″ overflow kit. The internal box comes with two 16″ removable weir/lids that are easily removeable to clean. By using two 16″ weirs and installing a brace in the center, attached to a double laminated front lip, these longer boxes are extremely rigid. The external box has a one piece euro-brace for added strength and uses 1.5″ replaceable slip style bulkhead fittings for the drains. We have now switch to a flush fit polycarbonate lid that will not bow overtime like the acrylic ones would. It is designed and optimized to flow between 700 – 2500+ actual GPH (not the pump rated GPH, but real world tested GPH). We have been running this model in different configurations over the last 6 months and their performances exceeded all of our expectations. You will be impressed with how easy they are to get to run safely and silently. With the toothed weirs installed, this overflow can easily handle an Ecotech L2 at full power, and is designed to run on all but the very largest of systems.
The removeable weirs come in 2 varieties:
- Slotted – The slotted variety is the one we have been producing since the beginning. They are 0.5″ tall slots that allow for a smooth flow of water over the top. They stay clean longer and are easier to clean when they become dirty. They also produce the lowest rise of water inside the display when running.
- Toothed – This is a traditional toothed weir, like the ones used on most other systems. They are 1/4″ wide vertical slots with a 1/4″ space in between each slot. They will flow slightly more water, but require more cleaning, are more tedious to clean and produce more rise when used.
There are options for ordering just one set of front weirs, or an additional set. You can order a second one of the same type (so you can always have one clean and ready to go), or if you are unsure which one you would like to use, you can purchase a second one of a different variety to try out. By ordering the second one along with the overflow, the price on shipping will not change. If you choose to order a second set at a later date, it will have additional shipping cost added. Either way, the additional weir is $20 more.
